FATE

Het is bijna 3 maanden geleden sinds de lancering van dit onderscheidende en unieke artistieke en culturele project. Op het eerste gezicht wekte het idee van dit project mijn bewondering en mijn interesse in het project om verschillende nationaliteiten, talen, geslachten, artistieke culturen, soorten en variëteiten van de verschillende audio- en visuele beeldende kunsten samen te brengen en samen te voegen tot één geheel, dat brengt hen samen met, artistieke creativiteit en Artistieke communicatie, culturele kruisbestuiving en creativiteit. Ik ontmoette de jonge kunstenaars die aan het project deelnamen in de eerste hands-on workshops, waar ik echt verrast was door het enorme verschil in taal, cultuur, rassen, nationaliteiten en verschillen in de stijlen en genres van kunst.  Theater, muziek, dans, fotografie, film, poëzie en andere geweldige kunsten die ideeën voor creativiteit en artistieke creativiteit inspireren.  Maar op het eerste gezicht was ik er zeker van dat dit vers...

 06.05.2021 What I learned and lived with FATE in a period of about 2 months was clearly an impressive experience. Many people from different languages and cultures and different branches come together and work towards a common goal. You can call this teamwork. I see a good harmony.  From the first day to this day, there are people who are really eager to learn and experience anything. This gives you many benefits.  At the very beginning I was asking myself what am I doing here. I'm just a photographer. I am not an actor, dancer or musician. At first, their training was not for me. But day by day I realized that there is a team chemistry. Those trainings allow us to discover and get to know ourselves. An awakening. I discovered this better in our first movie project.   Since 2 months, I started my beautiful journey with FATE, a journey full of special moments, new friendships and a lot of creative ideas! I couldn’t ask for more during this Corona period .. a place to breathe safely and transform the suppressed energy into colorful art expressions. During the 1st block, besides the training and the warming up sessions and workshops, the highlight of it was our 1st presentation: “Family”! It was so fun to work with my energetic team, most importantly, I learned a lot, especially the skills and steps needed to move from great wide ideas after a brainstorming to a strategic plan that can work in reality and be presented as an art project. We worked from scratch on this presentation, and I loved it! It was our own creation and we couldn’t be prouder by keeping an open mind to do even better in our 2nd official presentation soon. Freedom, identity, and belonging are among the most topics discussed and addressed artistically through theatrical scenes, visual art, and music. Presented by a diverse group of creative artists from different cultural backgrounds, gathered together during FATE Project workshops. I believe in art as a tool to change for the better, for advocacy, raising awareness about important issues, At a time when the world is fighting against Covid, the artists are resisting in their way. All participants of the FATE project waiting anxiously for the Sunday’s workshop, because of its many interesting and useful activities. Despite the Corona strict restrictions, we were still able to enjoy the soul of the theatre. Zid theatre has organized a workshop that goes in line with the Corona measures; as follows: Dividing us into two groups, morning and afternoon groups to keep the 1.5-meter distance. Where it actually went so smooth and effective. Every group have now more focus and space to practice their art! In the last Sunday workshop, we begun with warming up but in the Zid theatre warming up meant to be artistic. Sebo asked every participant to comes up with their own way to change the quality of the exercises. For example, moving quality, sound quality, welcoming quality and play with it to reflect your own qualities, where here no right or wrong applied but holding on the 1.5 meter distance. So far, the connections established within the FATE group at ZID are meaningful and warm. People care about each other and are excited to work together, to further progress on their personal creative journeys. Right now the training is focused on finding a harmonious way to work in groups. Within the group, there are people with ideas that have the tendency to be spilled out unfinished and pushed to others with force. The multiplicity of ideas is good for creativity, but now it is important to put our focus into coworking, which includes listening to others and the merging of different ideas into one whole.   

Passion I enjoy having such a great opportunity to share the things I love, the ideas  I discover and some of my most personal moments with a growing loyal community. I consider this platform an ongoing creation with so much potential to grow and evolve. My love affairs with challenges has never come to a stop. Start: The first tool for me is always the motivation to start the journey to the desired goal. As soon as I have the motivation to start, I hardly stop then.    1) As soon as I start my journey, I’m trying different ways to find out my strengths and weaknesses. In this particular case it could be to try different disciplines in the art or different roles in acting.  2) One of the most important tools for me is the ability to keep myself connected with the reality. It means, that though dreaming is important, but also realizing the possible difficulties is vital. The road can be long, but I’ll take my horse and I’ll just ride.  3) No matter what can happen, defeats or victories, the show must always go on.  4) Hardworking person can achieve many things. This year a project called FATE was started at ZID theater. FATE stands for Future Academy on Tour Europe, and the project is supported by the European Union.  In FATE, creative newcomers in the Netherland, of either a refugee or migrant background, come together to learn extensive skills needed in order to find employment in the Dutch creative sector. The group consists of musicians, photographers, filmmakers, actors, producers, artists and so far of so forth. The group spirid has not been tromped by the coronavirus, and thankfully we have been able to arrange meetings in accordance with the covid measurements.  In the month of March, the group has been separated into smaller teams in order to make a small production. The meaning of this production is to get to know each other better, and get to see how our creative talents fit together.
